One Saturday, one neighbourhood

The whole district is having a yard sale

Old Escondido is doing this together for the first time — one date, one map, one morning.

Anyone who lives inside the Old Escondido Historic District can take part. Sell from your driveway, your garage or your front lawn. There's no fee and no permit.

Register your address and we'll put it on the map neighbours pick up on the morning of the sale — and on the digital one shoppers follow on their phones.

How it works

Four steps, about two minutes

    Pick up your yard signSigns are ready the week of the sale. We'll email where and when.

Things neighbours have asked

Do I have to live in Old Escondido?+

Yes. The map covers the historic district — roughly Escondido Boulevard across to Chestnut Street, and 8th Avenue down to 13th. If you're on the edge and not sure, register anyway and we'll check.

Is there a fee?+

No. Registering is free and taking part is free.

What if I register and then can't do it?+

Email us before Monday, October 5 and we'll take your address off the map. After that the maps are already printed.

Do I need a permit?+

No. The City of Escondido allows residential yard sales without a permit. Keep tables on your own property and leave the sidewalk clear.

Can I share a sale with my neighbour?+

Yes, and it works well. Register the address where the sale will actually be so shoppers come to the right driveway.

What time do shoppers turn up?+

Early. Some people are out at 7:00 whatever the map says. Be ready by 7:30 if you can.

What do I do with what doesn't sell?+

We'll send a list of donation and haul-away options a couple of days after the sale — Goodwill, Habitat ReStore and local haulers.
